Tutorials
The role of the tutorials is to provide a platform for a more intensive scientific exchange amongst researchers interested in a particular topic and as a meeting point for the community. Tutorials complement the depth-oriented technical sessions by providing participants with broad overviews of emerging fields. A tutorial can be scheduled for 1.5 or 3 hours.
Tutorial on
Analysis-Ready Data and AI models as part of the Geospatial Data Ecosystem
Abstract
Abstract
Spatial data infrastructures (SDI) are evolving from top-down structures to a more inclusive Geospatial ecosystem. A key component of that ecosystem is the contribution from industry, NGOs, crowdsourced projects, etc. of analysis-ready data (ARD) and apps. ARD allows GIS and related experts (and novices) to go straight to their analysis without spending precious time on data engineering. This tutorial explains the transition and demonstrates ARD in the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. Examples of these data include imagery archives, census data, global land cover data, and trained deep learning models. Accounts on ArcGIS Online will be provided to attendees so they can follow along.
